Tongue Drum

Tongue drum is similar to a tank drum or hank drum. Tongue drum belongs to the idiophone family which is an instrument that produces sound via the vibration of the instrument itself. 

It is made from steel with its top part slit into several tongue shapes that created the sound. The tongues can be tuned by varying the length of the cuts, or by adding weights to the tongue. That's how this drum got its name!

Today, tongue drum has become very popular for meditation music, yoga practice and sound therapy. It is an excellent instrument that produces beautiful, calming and peaceful melodies. Not only is it a great instrument, but it is also a tool for finding inner peace. 

It looks a bit like UFOs but the music it creates is otherworldly! Suitable to be played by anyone of any age.
